Bus with Vasco under-14 delegation catches fire on the road

After winning the Copa Brasileirinho in Minas Gerais, the bus carrying Vasco’s under-14 squad caught fire on the way back to Rio de Janeiro, at the time of Conselheiro Lafaiete. The boys managed to disembark on the road and no one was injured. However, some of the sports equipment in the delegation was burned, and several boys were left without cleats.

Aware of what happened, players from the professional team made a point of helping. They took the initiative to donate football boots to the boys. The entire cast got in on the action. Vasco’s under-14 kids received their shoes at the team’s representation, this Friday.

Before the fire on the road, the kids from Vasco put on a show in Minas Gerais. Undefeated, the team won the title of the under-14 Copa Brasileirinho, the most important championship in the category in the country.

In the final, Vasco beat América-MG on penalties. It was the only game in which Vasco did not win in normal time in an impressive campaign. There were nine games in ten days, with eight wins and one draw, 25 goals scored and only two conceded.

In addition to the title, Vasco took all the individual awards. Guilherme Melo was elected the star of the championship, and Lucas Ovidio was the top scorer, with nine goals. Kauã Hermano was elected the best goalkeeper. The award for best coach went to Iggor Costa.
