Chelsea have confirmed that Renato Veiga has completed a permanent move to Spanish side Villarreal.
The 22-year-old defender, who joined the Blues from FC Basel in July 2024, made 18 appearances in the first half of last season. The club thanked him for his contributions during his short spell at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are working on a long-term deal for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons. According to Sky Sports reporter Florian Plettenberg, both parties have already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms, with a contract running until 2031 expected to be signed next week.
Formal talks between Leipzig and Chelsea will begin after Friday’s Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Leipzig.
The report also suggests Chelsea may need to sell some attacking players, including Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson, to make room for Simons.
