Moreirense triumphs in Arouca and rises to seventh in the League

Canons come out on top in the opening match of the ninth round.

A goal from Marcelo was enough for Moreirense to win this Friday at home to Arouca by 1-0, in the game that opened the ninth round of the I Football League, allowing the ‘canons’ to climb to seventh place.

The Brazilian striker’s goal came in the 39th minute, allowing Moreira de Cónegos’ team to add the fourth consecutive game without losing and get closer to the European zone, while, on the other hand, Arouca added the eighth consecutive match without a win for the championship, the fifth consecutive defeat.

With this victory, Moreirense provisionally climbed to seventh, with 14 points, while the Arouquenses dropped to 16th place, in the maintenance play-off, with six.
