Former French footballer Vincent Candela has shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappé’s move to Real Madrid and the challenges he faces in Spain. Speaking in an interview with RB Sports, via Diario Sport, Candela urged Mbappé to embrace the opportunity to grow and achieve greatness at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“At Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé is a player among others, while at PSG, he was an icon,” Candela explained.

Candela emphasized that Mbappé needs to work harder in Spain to unlock his full potential and cement his place among football’s elite.
“He can still grow and become a stronger player,” Candela stated. “He has to work harder in Spain.”
While acknowledging Mbappé’s immense talent, Candela highlighted that his journey to legendary status is far from complete, particularly when compared to Cristiano Ronaldo’s illustrious career.

Candela expressed hope that Mbappé could follow in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, who achieved unparalleled success during his time at Real Madrid.
“I hope Mbappé can follow Cristiano Ronaldo’s path at Real Madrid,” he said. However, he also stressed that comparisons are premature: “It’s too early to compare them. First, he has to win the Champions League, as the Portuguese has done several times.”
