Dinamo Zagreb manager Nenad Bjelica has expressed his desire to see Real Madrid and Croatian icon Luka Modric return to Dinamo Zagreb, the club where his illustrious career began. Speaking to Radio MARCA, Bjelica shared his hopes that Modric would eventually retire at the Croatian club.

Bjelica’s Admiration for Modric

When asked about the possibility of Modric rejoining Dinamo Zagreb, Bjelica made no secret of his admiration for the midfielder.
“Luka Modric back to Dinamo? Who wouldn’t like to have Modric in their team? I hope he will finish his career at Dinamo Zagreb,” he said.

Modric, who turned 39 this year, remains a pivotal figure at Real Madrid and for the Croatian national team, showcasing remarkable longevity and skill.

A Sentimental Reunion on the Cards?

Modric began his professional career at Dinamo Zagreb, making 94 appearances for the club before moving to Tottenham Hotspur in 2008. His rise to global stardom continued at Real Madrid, where he has won numerous domestic and international trophies, including the prestigious Ballon d’Or in 2018.

While a return to Dinamo Zagreb would be a sentimental homecoming, Modric has not confirmed any plans regarding his retirement or a possible return to his boyhood club.

Bjelica’s comments reflect the admiration and hope that many Dinamo Zagreb fans share for a potential Modric reunion. Whether or not the Croatian maestro will end his storied career at the club where it all began remains uncertain.

For now, Luka Modric continues to perform at the highest level, leaving fans and pundits to dream of a fairy-tale ending to his illustrious career.
